Jesse M. McRight, III - criminal defense in Oxford, MS
Jesse joined the attorneys at Garrett Friday & Garner after graduating law school in 2013. Jesse is a native of Jackson, Mississippi but has called Oxford home since enrolling in the University of Mississippi School of Law.
Jesse graduated from Mississippi State University having earned his B. A. as well as his Masters Degree in History. After completing his undergraduate studies, he enrolled in the University of Mississippi School of Law. While a student, Jesse obtained his criminal law certificate and served on the Dean's Leadership Council and the Honor Council. He also participated in two cases which were pending before Mississippi Court of Appeals as a student intern. Prior to graduation, Jesse also interned with the District Attorney for the 13th Circuit Court District of Mississippi.
Jesse focuses his practice at Garrett, Friday & Garner on Criminal Defense / Post Conviction Relief and assisting clients with workers compensation and social security disability claims. However, his passion is appellate work. Within the community, Jesse is an active member of First Baptist Church of Oxford where in sings in the choir. He is also honored to serve on the board of directors of Oxford Sav-a-Life.
